Car Rental Requirements

  • Post category:Blog Post

You must meet a few requirements to rent a car from Elite Rent a Car. We strive to provide options for everyone, even those with less-than-perfect credit, no credit card, or no car insurance.

You will need a driver’s license

You must have a valid driver’s license to rent a car in Texas. This is non-negotiable. If you have an out-of-state or international driver’s license, there may be an additional fee, but it’s essential to have a driver’s license with you when renting and driving the vehicle. If you have additional drivers, they, too, must present their license.

Age Rental Requieremnts

Drivers must be 18 years old to rent a car from Elite. There is an additional fee of $17.99 if they are under 21.

How to pay for your rental car?

We are pleased to inform you that we gladly accept payments made with Master and Visa credit or debit cards. However, please note that we do not accept prepaid credit cards, gift cards, bank cash cards, or cash for your car rental. The name of the debit/credit card must match the name on the driver’s driving license. No exceptions.

Background Check

All potential renters are required to undergo a background check as part of the rental process. If you choose to use a credit card to secure your rental, there is no fee. However, for renters using a debit card, there is a $25 nonrefundable background check fee.

Paying with a Debit Card

We understand that not all customers have credit cards, which is why Elite Rent a Car is happy to accept payments via debit cards. It’s important to note that there is a nonrefundable $25 charge for a background check, and the vehicle must be rented for a minimum of three days. Additionally, a deposit is required.
